Question:
HOW MUCH FOOD AT 7 MONTHS OUT???
I'm 7 months out and I'm wondering how much food everyone can eat at this point. I still weigh my protein most of the time and depending what it is I usually eat between 3-4 ounces of meat plus sometimes a salad with that. I stay away from bread, potatoes and pasta. Any info. on this would be of help thanks. Kelly* 80 pounds gone! — Kelly* P. (posted on August 29, 2003)

I'm about a month behind you, but I still can only eat small amounts. For
example, I can't stomach breakfast except 1/2 of an english muffin with
reduced fat peanut butter. Lunch is usually 2 ounces of sliced deli meat
with an ounce of cheese made into little rollups. Supper is about 1-2
ounces of protein and a little vegetable usually. I am never hungry and
find that I really can't eat between meals. I'm still having problems
getting in all my protein, but have just recently added a protein bar that
I eat part of mid morning and the other mid afternoon. I don't totally
stay away from carbs. I have eaten rice, potato and pasta. Not in large
quantities and certainly not every day. I guess its working for me at I've
lost 102 lbs. in 25 weeks. I think each person is different as to what
they can eat and how much. If it works for you and your happy, stick with
it.

I am 7 months out also, down 85 lbs, and I can eat pretty well I think. I
have two protein drinks a day, three meals, and one snack. My lunch and
dinner usually consist of 2-3 oz of meat, a salad or vegetables, and
sometimes part of 1/2 a baked potatoe or some mashed taters. I don't do
bread or pasta, but I think I'm getting somewhere between 1000 and 1200
calories in a day. Hope this helps, and congratulations on your great
loss!

I eat anywhere from 3-6 ounces with shrimp being the 6 ounces as they go
down way too easy and do not sit as solid as say a cheeseburger. 75-100%
of my meal is protein. Sometimes some veggies and fruit but not every
meal. I also will have a few bites of potato a few times a week. My carbs
can range from about 10-45 grams depending on the day and what I eat. I
count veggies and fruit in as carbs since technically they are. I do eat
bread once in a while when I go out but it's a small piece and not often.
I do tolerate it okay. I always try to get in as close to 3-4 ounces of
protein as possible and any additional food I eat comes from other things.
I do usually have a "snack" at about 9:00 at night that might
range from a no sugar added ice cream bar (5 grams of carbs total) to fruit
or a string cheese stick. It's not even close to a whole meal. I will be
7 months PO on Sept 3rd and am down 159 lbs, but I did start at 442.
