I have not had this surgery yet, but being a nurse, I would recommend that you call your Dr. and let them know whats going on. God's BLessings to You.

I had my surgery on the same day too. I am not a medical professional but first I would recommend you call your doctor. Second, I have experienced this type of pain and all I could do is go to the chiropractor for my back. My doctor does not endorse protein drinks but minerals and vitamins and a balanced meal (even if it all pureed to a pulp) If you are still experiencing pain ask your doctor for some pain medicine until it subsides. BE ENCOURAGED!! It will be better! Good Luck.

Patti, I am not a medical professional, and of course you should check w/you Dr., but I did a very similar thing afer my Lap RNY, and it was gas. I have had this problem with another surgery I had earlier not related to WLS. It was sharp pains in my back that lasted for several minutes. It was very painful and I thought it was never going to stop, but it did. I hope that is all that is wrong, and hang in there, I know you will be glad you went throug w/it. I went from a size 22 to a size 6, and I think it is well worth it. Patti Meadows

I had my surgery 7/15 . I had horrible left abdomen pain that has gone away. The doctor explained to me they were fat adhesions. As I lost the fat mass they would go away and they did. hang in there

I had my surgery 7/25 via lap and I'm not having this problem at all. Here's another vote to call your doctor.

I had the same pain after I had a c-section surgery with my 2nd child! I was cut from bellybutton to the pubic bone, not a normal c-section. Anyway, I had that terrible pain for almost 2 months on and off. I went to the doc's and they did all sorts of internal tests and bloodwork and found nothing. I am assuming that this certain pain and bloating just happens to some people who have had a major abdominal surgery. My baby is 4 months old now and I am feeling fine. My guess is that this to shall pass, hang in there and take some Tylenol to take the edge off, it helped me get through it. Good Luck! Tiffany :)
