Question:
Question about about of intestines bypassed?
I am 5'4" and about 315 and have been approved for the gastric bypass with a long roux limb up to a maximum of 150 cm. Will 150 cm be enough for me??? — lillbitofsin (posted on July 19, 2003)

I began my journey at 405. I am 5'7". I had open RNY with 125 cm
bypass. I have lost 175 lbs. in a little less than 9 months. Worked for
me! ;)

I had between 85 and 100cm bypassed, my surgery was on 02/19/03 6 months
ago today. I am 6'2" starting weight was 412 and now I am 262 so that
makes 150lbs lost in 6 months, like the other poster says "WORKS FOR
ME"

150 cm bypassed with a 2 to 3 ounce pouch, starting weight 425 - down to
255 in 12 months. I'm 6 feet tall so only another 30 or 40 left to go for
my personal goal weight. Still losing about 5 pounds a month at this
point.

I'm 5' 5" and started at 290, so our stats are pretty similar. I had
130 cm bypassed, and am losing weight well (65 pounds in 3.5 months). Both
my surgeon and I are pleased at the rate of loss. I quite likely will lose
more than what he would be satisfied with (neither of us has a goal of me
losing 100% of my excess weight; he will be happy with a 65% loss, I'm
aiming for a 70 - 75% loss). I'm already more than halfway to my own goal,
so there's no reason to think I won't get there, at least. Best wishes to
you.
