Question:
Looking for information on support groups in Jacksonville or Orange Park area

I have my first consult with Dr. Jawad in Ocala September 4 but would like to get started in the support group here.    — Paula S. (posted on July 8, 2003)

I am a patient of Dr Jawad's. When I was at my consult, I met a lady from Jacksonville. She told me that there is a support group at St. Lukes's Hospital. I know it's a long way for you to drive, but we have a great support group in Ocala. Most of the people who attend are Dr Jawad's patients. We have people drive from Jax, Orlando, Lakeland. I drive about 45 minutes from Leesburg.

My surgeon is Dr. Sooriash. Our support meetings are the third wednesday of every month. It is at 6:30pm at Memorial hospital. We usually have a guest speaker and I think it will be a psychiatrist this month and a plastic surgeon next month. Everyone is welcome, pre-op and post-op.

I belong to 2 support groups in the JAX area, one on the westside and one in Clay County. One of the groups is meeting 7/12 and the other 7/19. email me for more info.
