Question:
Help !! I'm 7 months post op RNY and found out this morning that I'm Pregnant.
I'm thrilled that I'm Pregnant but also scared because this is an unplanned pregnancy (i was on the pill). Has anyone else had this experience. Lisa — HSCLisa (posted on May 26, 2003)

A lady in our support group had twins! I think she was out about a year
from her surgery when she got pregnant. She did great, but I know they
monitored her nutrition closely.

Lisa, there are quite a few post-ops who have had healthy pregnancies under
one year post-op and most, like you, did not plan it that way! There is a
support group on yahoo for post-op pregnancies and if you go to
spotlighthealth.com, morbid obesity, support groups, surgery support and
ask the same question you will get some replies from those who have had
pregnancies. I do know that they were monitored not only by their surgeons
but by high risk pregnancy docs too during the pregnancy. You'll be
fine...and congrats!

I know your concerns, I am only 5 months postop of open rny and 3 months
pregnant with TWINS. So far everything is fine, they just monitor you
closer, had my 12 week ultrasound Friday and said everything looks
great...so good luck
