Question:
I thought this surgery was supposed to help me????Not Hurt
Ok I just got off the phone with the nurse from my md's office and she was telling me that they found some protein in my urine and also that my hemoglobin A1c was 7.4, but I have not been on diabetes meds since the day I had the surgery, she also said that something about my urine dissoultion or something like that was low, and the nurse mentioned something about her notes mentioning vasotech-which she said is for high blood pressure, but my pressure is fine, when I went to the docs it 110/70-why would she want to put me on something that sounds like it is blood pressure medicine and how can my sugar be 7.4 when I have not been on meds and they have been normal low 100's since the surgery-I'm feeling very upset right now no way am I taking any more meds for a surgery that was supposed to help me get off them and my blood pressure is normal-what does protein in the urine mean-is something wrong with my kidneys, could they be failing-I'm scared-really really scared-I'm only 22-is that the same as ketosis-Someone please help-Tori — TotallyTori (posted on May 22, 2003)

Protein in Urine: This is an indicator something may be wrong with your
Kidneys, and they will probably (should) refer you to a nephrologist
(Kidney Doctor).

Because you have so many questions about what the nurse told you and feel
much of it may be incorrect, I would highly recommend calling your doctor
and making an appt to see him/her right away. If you still question the
test results, asked that the tests be rerun for you. LABS do make mistakes
and test results can get mixed up with others. Hope everything turns out
OK for you.

Don't worry everything will be fine. Don't worry yourself sick. Remember,
no pain, no gain or should I say no pain no lost.
