I eat tuna helper, hamburger helper, and chicken helper often. I dont count carbs and pasta never bothers me. I get full really fast but for me it keeps me full for a while. Why not try it?

I eat if occationally too... I add extra meat to it and I also will try to "pick" out more meat... it's a nice change once in a while... I also like the tuna helpers, the chicken helper, again I just use extra meat, tuna etc...my husband really likes it with the extra meat in it too...

Why do some people think rice, pasta, potatoes, etc are evil? They're just food! Go ahead! Like everything, moderation is the key. Protein and veggies should be the main part of dinner but a little side of noodles will be fine (IMHO). Our bodies need carbs to function properly. Granted, the best carbs are complex ones, like whole grains and veggies. But noodles, etc once in a while won't kill ya.

I agree eat it and get the craving out of your system. Me, though, pasta HURTS! so watch yourself, if you do okay, fine, but for me, no can do anymore. I can do rice and bread, but no way to pasta. Just make sure you don't drink, the pasta will swell and make a paste and could clog your stoma - NOW THAT is PAIN! Try chewing the pasta and spitting out if it gives you pain and you REALLY want a taste.

I eat it, but I can't eat sphagetti. I stopped eatting the hamburger helper, I just make tuna or chicken helper now, so it's not so fattening and I never add butter:o)

Like some of the other posters, I think that's a fine choice. Go ahead and make it with the noodles, and just eat a few bites of them, certainly won't kill you. Some people are completely anti-carb, but I personally like to eat carbs here and there. I don't count carbs in my daily totals either, but I try to make sure I eat less than 20grams per meal. That has been fine with me, and I'm 1 year post-op and surpassed my goal. You could probably even do half macaroni/half beans for even more protein if you want. Goodluck to you!

I agree with Inga and Lezlie, unless you are anti-carb for some reason, go ahead and have a little bit of noodle. Just eat a little bit of noodle, though, if it is a new food for you. Some of us do not do well on the pastas and rices, and you won't know until you try it.

I still eat it - as does my family...but since we are all trying to low-carb it (to a degree) I double the meat I put in it and eat less noodles. Sometimes I use whole wheat noodles instead. Sometimes I eat mostly noodles - sometimes I use steak instead of burger. Very versatile!

Victoria, I stay completely away from Hamburger Helper. For one thing, I eat very few "white" carbs and don't want the problems they bring. And, pasta makes me very ill. All I can say, is try it - but it is full of salt, carbs, preservatives and other things that aren't great for us.

Yes, have the Hamburger Helper. I can't do pasta or rice myself, and only have a couple tablespoons of mashed or baked potato occasionally. However, my husband likes his Kraft Mac & Cheese a couple times a month or some Hamburger Helper. If I am fixing it for him, I fix myself a nice little salad with cheese, tomato, maybe boiled egg or imitation crab. Then I'll have a couple bites of what he's having. That way I feed that craving but don't overdo it. Or sometimes I'm really bad and eat the couple bites of the "bad stuff" followed up with some yummy sugar free chocolate fudge pudding topped with lite cool whip...mmm, mmm. Sometimes it's good to be bad. Just don't do it daily and you'll be fine. - Anna
