Question:
HOW MANY OUNCES CAN YOU EAT AT 4 MONTHS?
I can eat around 3 ounces and sometimes I can eat 4 ounces, is this normal or to much?? That's weighing my protein on a scale. — Kelly* P. (posted on May 12, 2003)

Sounds about normal to me. I ate 2-4oz at the begining and now I eat
4-8oz(7mo post-op), all depends on what kind of food it is. I had my
surgery at BTC and they said I could eat 1/2 to 1 cup of food and 1 to 1.5
cups of liquid. Good luck!!!

hey kelly..i am 51/2 months out and can't still probably eat but about 3-4
ozs.. it does really depend on what you are eating and how it sits on your
pouch. you have to do the trial and answer thing. nobody had and has more
questions about this surgery than me...lol

At 4 months out I can eat 2-3 ounces of protein but I can eat a cup of
salad. Go figure. It makes me nervous. It sounds like you are doing great
though!

Kelly, I'm 4 months out this week, and I can eat about 3 ounces of protein.
If it is the right time of the month, I probably can eat more. I found
that at 3 months, suddenly I could eat practically twice as much as before;
my surgeon said this is typical for his patients.

At 4 months post, I can eat between 3-4 oz of dense protein (steak, chicken
breast, etc) and probably a cup of "softer foods" like pinto or
refried beans, steamed veggies. Sometimes I can only eat 2oz portions of
the denser proteins and when that happens, I save it for a later meal.
