Question:
my surgeon told me to keep taking 4 tums at 5 weeks post op
but I hear alot of people as well as the people in GNC say that we do not absorb camcium carbonate, I was going to take calcium citrate but I hear that coral calcium is even better and highly absorbable, is it okay to start taking this since it is now chewable, also can I start taking a regular woman's multivitamin that is not chewable???... Skip the Coral Calcium and take the Citrate. Coral Calcium is only a
little better than Carbonate but either way it's still just blackboard
chalk and we don't absorb it. You wan Calcium Citrate. Citrate comes in
chewable wafers too, but you can probably take the kind you swallow just as
well. I started taking the swallowable kind about about 3 weeks out and
had no problems, so yes to the regular multivitamin, too. Lose the
Flintstone's! <Blech!> =)

Kelli - If you compare the back of the Centrum regular multi-vitamins and
the Centrum Rugrats (my preferance) chewables they have exactly the same
ingredients and same quantities with adult doses. Now if you take the
silver or women's etc., they would be different. So unless one needs extra
iron or something the chewables are still fine.

Do you not like the chewables? Just want to take a swallow for your multi
portion? I use Kirkland multi (not adult, not Premium) (2 per day) and they
dissolve in less than 1 min. Tums, Coral Calc, blackboard chalk, as she
said, or as I say, just kick a hole in your sheetrock & lick that. They
all contain calcium, but doesn't mean the human body can absorb it. Stick
with calcium citrate
