Question:
I am actually wondering if anyone knows of a WLS friendly Physc in the DFW area?

I have everything together except for the Physc evaluation and most people are booked a month behind. If anyone could tell me who they went to see, I would greatly appreciate it.    — thehistorychic (posted on April 8, 2003)

Hi, If you look under the professionals page, you'll be able to check out the psyche doctors. I asked this same question awhile back and I heard from about ten people who LOVED Dr. Melvin Whitehurst in Plano, TX. He books about three weeks out. I'm scheduled for this friday. Good luck, k

I agree Melvin Whitehurst Phd in Plano is wonderful. I am not sure how booked his is but the appointment face to face is about 15 minutes and then you take a psych evaluation of over 500 questions which will take you at least an hour if you read and make decisions quickly. He sees all of Dr. Hamn and Cribbins patients before surgery. He is very well educated about wls and give helpful tips and concerns. He was not in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield Texas but only costs $100. Best of luck. Alma (VBG 1/28/03 down 38 lbs).
