In my opinion, I wouldn't eat a noodle of any kind just yet. They tend to swell and get stuck, which makes you feel really, really awful for awhile. I ate part of a noodle from soup about 3 weeks post (I think it was then, can't remember now) and I had to go home from work and lay down. It was horrible!!! I'm almost 4 months post, and I STILL will not eat pasta. Be careful what you put into your new stomach. It's like a rebellious teenager in there. It gets pissed off for what seems like no reason, and throws a FIT! LOL!

She's right! Wait a little bit longer for the pasta. I can't eat any pasta, it gives me slight dumping. Alot of people complain about that after WLS, so good luck!

Yeah the last poster is right. You could be asking for trouble with things like noodles and bread at so early post op. Ouch. As far as getting low carb pasta, it sounds good in theroy but I've never had any low carb products yet that did'nt taste like sawdust or worse. I'm sure there are some good ones somewhere but it costs to much to try them all to find a good one. Anyway, wait a couple months before trying noodles, pasta or breads. I can hurt VERY bad.

i made the BIG mistake of buying Amici pasta OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GROOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSS. IT WAS SO BAD IT COULD HAVE GAGGED A MAGOT! i'm not a picky eater either, this stuff was just the worst. and even if you can digest it, the smell of it is just like old dirty socks. no amount of sauce or spice could help this stuff. lol

I haven't even heard of low-carb pasta. but Fran's answer alone LOL will make me not want to try it. Stinks, too- I definately miss pasta! ALthough pasta is a fairly soft food, it is one that bothers many post-ops, even years out. Stay away from those carbs for a while. And eventually when you can eat regular food, having a couple bites of some macaroni won't kill you. I hae macaroni sometimes, I can only eat like 5 noodles, but I have chicken or fish or something else with it. Goodluck to you!

I've never tried it, but I definitely remember someone posting about this quite a while back and the general consensus was that it was NOT worth the money, kind of like Fran said.

I can't eat any pasta now. It used to be a staple in my diet pre-op. Post-op I've tried to eat it several times only to end up getting very ill and eventually throwing up. Nothing else does this to me, not even sugar, just pasta. So, be careful with it, not that it's great for us anyway. I finally decided it was not worth it and gave it up totally. I may try it again later down the road when I'm several more months out but I'm not sure I want to risk feeling like that again.

I didn't try pasta until about 6 months out but I have the same pasta you mention and I like it just fine. I eat it with veggie meatballs, pasta sauce and cheese and it's one of my favorite meals. I would reccomend waiting a bit longer but it won't hurt you when you do try it.
