Question:
Has anyone ever gotten sick from tuna .....
I have been on Xenical for about 2 weeks. I don't get a stomach ache from anything unless it has tuna in it. The first time I thought maybe it was something in the tuna helper, but tonight I had tuna again and am doubling over. I do not like this med but my pcp put me on it telling me my insurance will only consider me for the surgery if I have tried everything. — Nancy S. (posted on March 22, 2003)

Now that you mention it, I am hit or miss with tuna. I am a month post op.
When I was first on pureed foods, I processed tuna w/ a little lite mayo
and ate it without difficulty. The next week I ate part of a tuna melt at
a diner, also ok. The last few times however, it just didn't sit right
with me. I had one of those Lunch On The Go things an the tuna just sat
in my throat and came back up. I had about 2 tiny bites today, and it
didn't feel right either. I wonder if it has to do with being white or
dark tuna. Not sure. Good luck.

BEING 16 MONTHS OUT, AND REACHING MY GOAL 9 MONTHS OUT, LOSING 240
POUNDS. I'M NO EXPERT, BUT MY DR SAID FROM THE START. TRY SOMETHING, IF IT
MAKES YOU SICK, TRY IT AGAIN IN A MONTH, GREAT ADVICE AS MOST THINGS THAT
MADE ME SICK, DOWN THE ROAD ONE DAY IT STAYED PUT. NOW WITH ME BEING ABLE
TO EAT ANY KIND OF MEAT A MONTH AGO, NOTHING MAKES ME SICK ANYMORE..
EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, YOUR BODY WILL TELL YOU WHAT'S O.K. AND WHAT'S NOT.
HANG IN THERE IT DOES GET BETTER, EGGS AND MEAT WERE MY LAST HURDLE.. EARLY
ON SOMETHING WAS O.K. ONE DAY THEN MADE ME SICK A FEW DAYS LATER!! BUT THAT
ALSO PASSED WITH TIME, GOOD LUCK,,

Nancy, I tried tuna the first month, tuna the second month and so on and so
on. YUCK!!!!! It never stays down. This is something I ate like a pig
pre-op. No more tuna here or any fish for that matter. Just can not keep
it down. GO FIGURE!! Keep on trying it though. Everyone is different.
You may be able to handle it sooner or later. Good Luck to you.
