Question:
Need Help Fighting Dad's Insurance Company

They have denied him 2x's, I had my surgery, my sister had hers, and my dad needs it more than both of us. If anyone knows what we can do to help him please tell me. He has Aetna. Thank you so much for your help and support.    — Judi S. (posted on March 16, 2003)

You did not say why they denied your dad. That would be a big help. I have Aetna and they are not the easiest to get approval from. If you feel your at the end of his rope with this company then I would highly suggest Walter Lindstrom. He is at www.obesitylaw.com if anyone can get your dad approval it's him. GOOD LUCK!!

If you elaborate more we can help. I have Aetna too and I found them very easy to work with, as long as they are able to check off the boxes with their requirements. If they have some sort of exclusion, it is due to the employer, not Aetna. If he has a 6 mo supervised diet w/in 2 yrs, 5 yrs of proven morbid obesity, a BMI of 40 or over.. he should be able to get approved.
