How long should it take?

How long should a letter from Conneticut to Alabama take to get there? I am about to crawl out of my skin waiting for that letter to get to the dr's office. Why is it taking so long?    — dixieb (posted on January 16, 2003)

Hi there. My insurance company was in Maryland and myself and surgeon were in Alabama. It took about a week and half maybe 2 weeks before I could get my insurance company to acknowledge that they had the package. My surgeon sends everything by courier and is signed for. I definitely know how you are feeling. I called and kinda insisted to know who (by name) was handling my insurance case and to talk with them. I even had to talk with a supervisor who was snotty but finally gave me some more information. If you show them that you are not taking no for an answer and that you know all your facts (when something was mailed, faxed, etc.) then they'll finally come around. They like to keep the customers just a number not a person. Good luck with your case. Be tough! Call all the time! Be a pest! Remember: the squeeky wheel gets the oil! LOL.
