Question:
Will I be ready to travel to Europe for a week 3 mos. post-op?
My sister, my daughter and I are going to visit Harry Potter's England and the best time for the trip is late April, 3 mos. after my Open RNY. Can those of you who have already been through this tell me if I'll be sufficiently recovered to enjoy the trip? Anything anyone can recommend or that I should consider to make the trip better? Thanks! — barbdeane (posted on January 15, 2003)

I traveled to Norway for a scuba diving trip, 8 weeks post op with the
blessing of surgeon. Check with your doctor first, but you should be fine

I was wondering the same thing myself. I don't even have a date yet. I am
also going to England March 27, just my daughter and I. Hopefully surgery
will be in the next four weeks to give myself a couple of months to heal.
I can't imagine going over there and not being able to eat though. My most
favorite foods are there and I only get them once a year :(. Bummer!!

Flew to France right at the 3 month mark and didn't have any problems. Just
make sure you drink plenty of water and walk around.
