Our local support group here in Cincinnati had a plastic surgeon as a speeker and he said to wait until you have lost your weight and maintain your weight up to 10 lbs either way. If you don't wait and have it done to soon you might have to have it again because of more weight lose/sagging skin. I think you should call a plastic surgeon in your area and ask them how they feel about it. Hope I helped some. Have a great holiday.

If you only have about 100 pounds to lose, make sure you check out plastic surgeons and how they would do the surgeries. I didn't lose all this weight for a plastic surgeon to make a roadmap on my body. I went to one plastic surgeon who wanted to do an anchor cut for my tt (it would start between my breasts and go all the way down to my pubic bone AND then from hip to hip). I told him that was unacceptable. I also asked him about an armlift and told him that I had read about surgery where the scar is under the armpit rather then down the length of the arm. He wouldn't even consider it. He said that was only for people who had a small amount of skin to be removed. I went to a different plastic surgeon who said I didn't that kind of radical surgery for my tt and he did my tt from hip to hip and it looks great!! He also mentioned the SAME type of surgery I had mentioned to the first doctor as his alternative to the horrible scar armlift. He first did liposuction on my arms and they have went down in size considerably. I'll have surgery in a couple of months to remove the excess skin and the scar will be under my armpit. Basically what I'm saying is don't be so quick to jump with the first plastic surgeon you see. Interview several AFTER getting recommendations from others who have used them. Look at those people's scars and see if you can live with them. I did NOT use the plastic surgeon my WLS doctor recommended and I'm glad I didn't. I saw work he had performed on other people and it was subpar and would not have been acceptable to me.
