Question:
How long did you wait to get pregnant after surgery& did you have any complications?
I am going to be getting married soon and know that we both want children. I am 4 months out now, and will not be getting pregnant any time soon, but would love to talk to you if you have had a successful surgery and gone through a good pregnancy! PLEASE e-mail me at [email protected] put WLS in subject line. THANK YOU! — Rhonda C. (posted on November 19, 2002)

Rhonda, I am almost 5 month post-op so I am not trying to conceive at this
point either, but there is a Yahoo group for women that get pregnant after
WLS. It has many members that have had babies at all stages post-op.

My daughter became pregnant 21 months after her lap RNY. She had a GREAT
pregnancy and gave birth in July to a beautiful baby girl. The only
recommendation that our bariatric surgeon gave to her obstetrician was to
double the prenatal vitamins to twice a day, and check labs every two
months during the pregnancy. Her lab work during the pregnancy was
actually better than before! Good luck!

Hi there, I had surgery 1/13/00 and on 1/13/02 I gave birth to twin boys.
They were born 9 weeks early...nothing to do with the surgery just my body
but they were perfect and today they are 10 months old and the loves of my
life.
