Hi, looking at your bmi it appears you are a light weight. I had my surgery
on 10/18 and the same thing happened..I too am a so called light weight w/
a BMI around 41. I cried and told my husband this wasnt going to work for
me....I decided it had to, only MUCH slower as I have less to lose than
some. I decided not to weigh myself frequently and just stick to the
program. I walk everyday at lunch time and watch my food intake. I was
having some problems getting in all the protein so I now dring a 1/2 a
protein shake on the way to work (YUCK)..it give me 30 proteins and that
seemed to help. I am just about a month out now and have lost 18 lbs. Not
as much as some...but better than being stuck at 11lbs (at 10 days post
op). Have faith and try not to weigh yourself so much. Lower your
expectations cause it just doesnt come off as fast when your BMI is in our
range. But have faith...it will come off..good luck and hang in there, I
know how frustrating it can be.....aloha Keniki

i was not losing any weight for a couple of months and every one keep
telling me to drink water and that it was a platu but i was doing
everything i needed to do so i requested an upper gi and it came back with
a problem so i have to go on the 22nd to schedule onther surgery so i would
ask you dr. for an upper gi to be safe, but you can try all the other stuff
first. good luck

Hear, hear to the slow losers......! I think we're all around the same BMI
and seem to be running up against the same challenge! I'm about 6 weeks
out and I have just stopped weighing myself PERIOD (the last time I did, I
think I had lost 20 lbs or so....which didn't seem like much!)!! Keep the
faith, keep drinking water, exercise, protein-protein-protein and let's bet
that it'll eventually start falling off so fast that we'll trip over the
pounds as they sliiiide off!

You are going to have plateaus - I do not know anyone who hasn't my last
one lasted over a month.... Now I am back to losing like crazy again. I
know it is not much comfort when you are the one looking at the scale, but
STOP looking at the scale. As long as you are eating and drinking the way
you should and exercising enough the weight will come off.
Hang in there!

Jenni, you are experiencing your first plateau, which hits most of us at
around 3 weeks post-op. They can last from a few weeks up to a month, then
you will start dropping again. It will happen on and off over your
journey. I have had times when I gain 2 pounds (how the hell does that
happen??) and then a week later drop those 2 and 2 or 3 more, and times
when I haven't lost anything for 3 weeks or more. Just do what your
supposed to do-small quantities, protein first, exercise, lots of water,
vitamins, watch the snacking and it will come off. Your just at the start
of your journey-it will happen.
