Question:
We started a local support group tonight and need a name for our group. Any

suggestions? How about The Sweet Losers. We are sweet and we have lost our sweets, so to speak. A few weeks ago I asked for a puppy name that I could name my new puppy (don't have one yet) that would be related to my weight loss but the moderator must have thought it was inappropriate. We (sheryl, myself, Elaine, & Willow) put a support group together here in las vegas and called it Las Vegas WLS Support Group, perhaps you could call it that but with your city name in it? just a suggestion!

I am sure you are all a bunch of Sweethearts, and, since Pop Tarts are not good for us post-op,I think you should combine the two names, and call yourselves The Sweet Tarts! Please let me know what name you finally decide on. Good luck.

I agree with the first post, if you name it after your city and add the WLS then people will know what the group is for and help attendance. You could have a name for the people in the group, kind of like a nick name. But as for posting it in the newspaper or with the Doctor's groups I think a name stating what you represent will be better understood. I only say this because a lady in our group said she asked around when she moved to this area and couldn't find the group under the "cute" name. Good luck.

I have to say the BIG loosers although you wouldnt use it. As to the puppy name you should of received a email directing it to the message board. I wasnt the mod who witheld it though. Q&A is for long term WLS related questions so your puppys name really didnt fit, sorry. I called mine puddles and she earned it:)
