Question:
Help! Am at wits end! Can anyone recommend a surgeon in Dallas/Ft.Worth area
I was very interested in Drs. McCarty, Kuhn, Westmoreland and Arnold who are part of the Baylor WLS Center, but they no longer take Aetna HMO. I am interested in having the Lap. Gastric Bypass Roux-en-Y but can't find a surgeon in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that takes Aetna HMO. Does anyone have a suggestion? — Laura F. (posted on October 15, 2002)

WELL I AND MY FRIEND (NANNETTE BRYANT) AND MY COWORKER WENT TO DR.
ALEXANDER...HE'S REALLY GOOD...THE WAIT FOR DR. MCCARTY IS TOO LONG...PLUS
DR. ALEXANDER REQUIRES AN UPFRONT FEE THEN TAKES WHATEVER THE INS. PAYS..

I am not sure about insurance, but I used Dr. Julie Leverton at BTC in
Wylie (near Plano). She is awesome. I have a friend that has Aetna HMO and
she had banding done by a DR. in Dallas. I could find out the name if you
are interested.

I had Dr. Provost at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in
Dallas. I am THRILLED with his results. He does have a long waiting list
though but he is worth the wait!

Dr. Henry Horileno at Medical City for sure takes Aetna. I was denied by
Aetna though. I got approved from Pacificare, but Dr. Horilleno stopped
taking Pacificare 15 Days before I called his office. Now I am using a New
surgeon to the area Dr. Glenn Ihde. He is GREAT!!! Previously he was at the
BTC so he has the experience. You Might also try Dr. Stephen Hamn, He was a
little cold for my tastes but he has done this surgery over 900 times. Good
Luck!!!
