Well, if you do have blockage you will have extreme abdominal pain. My
cousin had it and finally had to take Magnesium Citrate to get it cleard
up. However, if you are having abdominal pain, I greatly encourage you to
contact your surgeon about it. Good luck!

Well I've been constipated and having terrific pain in my right side (back
ache) in the kidney area. Evidently, the "stuff" that is inside
was causing the pain. So perhaps another sign of blockage can be a back
ache?

I had a small bowel obstuction in December and believe me, I don't think I
have ever experienced that kind of pain (even during labor). Read my
profile for more cause I wrote all about it. Anyway, they first inserted
an NG tube for a few days to try to pull it out that way, and when that
didn't work, I had to have surgery. Hope thats not the case with you.
Email me if you need to talk. Good luck,

The fact that you are able to type indicates that you probably do not have
a blockage. You would be doubled over in pain, It is is not generally
intermittent. You could have adhesions if your pain is intermittent,
basically a narowing of the bowel from scar tissue. Talk to your surgeon
about any abdominal pain...that is the best idea.

5 days after WLS, I was doubled over in pain and NOTHING, not even water
would go down. When I started vomiting bile, rushed to the emergency room,
and discovered I had a kinked bowel that had been sucked into a
hernia-surgery followed. Don't mess with severe pain. Get it checked out.
