Question:
I need a good flavorless protein powder/liquid.
I am 3 weeks post-op, and never was one for sweets, or sweet drinks. I am having trouble with the protein drinks, as they are all too sweet for me. Is there a flavorless supplement I could add to food to up the protein in it? I am getting desperate! Thanks in advance. — januaryrn (posted on August 29, 2002)

There is a flavorless powder called CASEC powder. You can add it to
applesauce, pudding, mashed potatoes etc. You can also cook with it to add
protein. Usually you have to ask your pharmasist to order it for you. It's
around $13 for a 10oz. can.

hiya
i use Jarrows Iso Rich Soy Protein Powder
2 tbls = 25grams protein
no sugar, no carbs, no fat...110 calories
you can cook with it and add it to applesauce, yogurt, oatmeal, cream of
wheat and even coffee!
if you mix it with coffee or hot tea you need to keep stirring before you
sip it can be a little lumpy
when you mix it with other food tho it mixes in smooth and you can't tell
it's in there
it has no flavor...it has been a life saver for me!
i add it to soup, casseroles, stir fry, quiche, pancakes, eggs..you name
it...if i use it when there's flour in the recipe i cut down on the flour
by 2tbls
i order mine online from: http://www.vitamintrader.com
and it's $24 (with s&h) for a 2# container which lasts me about 2
months...3 days delivery time
if you need some recipes email me, i collect them (high protein, low carb
and yummy) for my wls support group
take care!

Hi...This not flavorless but it also is delicious. I went through about 8
different protein sources before Michelle Curran linked me to this one:
Pro Score 100 Chocolate and you can get it online thru Vitalady.com. I use
2 scoops with about l/2 c. of ice and 6 oz of milk or water and blend. It
is not sweet, no sugar and is now my breakfast every day. Best part is 1
scoop is 16 g. and 2 is 32 g. of protein. My 10 year old granddaughter
even likes it and she is very finnacky. My best to you.

I use designer whey from GNC. Though I have not tried the nutral flavor
yet, I do love the chocolate one. My nurtritionist suggests it and says it
mixes very well with anything. For a small can it is $17.99. A small can
will make 15 portions.

One of the cheapest options is to add powdered milk to what you're eating -
in puddings, casseroles, etc.

Not taste natural designer whey? Are you joking? I put it in pudding and
it made me want to puke. Try getting samples from vitalady.com and trying
out stuff before you do what I did and invest in something that makes you
want to gag/puke every time.
