Question:
Does anyone know of any support groups in Delaware or the Eastern shore of Maryland?

My surgeon has support groups that meet in Delaware. They are open to all gastric bypass patients, regardless of your surgeon. Here is a link to the website with the meeting schedule: http://www.nanticoke.org/obesity/groups.cfm Hope this helps.

Hi... My surgeon is Dr. Roy Smoot of the Changing Lives Through Bariatric Surgery Program out of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. They are fabulous and as part of the after care they encourage you to attend the support group. They meet the 4th Thurs. of the month in Seaford at the Network Health Center. Next meeting is August 22nd at 7 PM. There also is a meeting in upstate DE at another time. To my knowledge that is the only support group that serves the Eastern Shore as most people travel from Maryland to DE for this surgery. If I can offer any other help, let me know.

There is a support group that meets in Wilmington,De. Next month the meeting is the second Monday at 7:00. The following month is the second Saturday at 10:00. It rotates that way each month. It is at the PMRI (Christina Care) on route 52. We are growing in numbers. The people are great and it is a good place to discuss concerns with people going through the same types of things.
