Question:
Is there anyone in my area that has had WLS

I am getting excited.... I only have 24 more days! I was wondering if there was anyone in my area that is having or has had WLS in my general area... I live in the Monterey area. Go to the "find peers" page of this website. Click on your state and go from there. You should be able to find someone in your town or near your town. Ask your surgeon's office if they have any support group meetings.

Are you in Monterey Ca.? If so, how lucky, it is so beautiful there. Anyhow, where are you having your surgery? The hospital or your surgeon should be able to provide you with support group information in the area. I am in the Los Angeles area and I know there are groups that meet at various hospitals at different times once a month or every other month, so check out your hospital. Also, this web-site is great for support. Prior to my surgery on 7/15/02, I was flooded with wonderful messages of encouragement and support from the members. In the Find Peers area I was also able to make some local contacts and one of the gals was having her surgery at the same hospital I was and I was able to go and visit her post-op. It may take some work on your part, but the support is out there!! Good luck, God bless!
