Question:
Would you please tell me what you are eating?
I am 7 months post-op. I have lost 135 pds. so far and am very grateful for that. I am getting a little board with my food choices, although I try to stay pretty strick. I don't stray too far from what I have eaten for months. I have a protein shake with 1/2 banana for breakfast, tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad or shrimp salad for lunch. They are fixed with celery and low fat mayo. For dinner I usually have some kind of protein. In the mid afternoon and evening I have a couple cashews and at night I have a sugar-free-fat free ice cream on a stick. I can go on eating this way, but am wondering what other people are eating. — Jan T. (posted on July 23, 2002)

Jan, I am also a little over 7 months post op. You should be able to eat
anything you want at this point. ( except sugary stuff) I try and make good
food choices but at the same time I don't want to be on a *diet*. I like
to eat Lean Cuisine, WW, or Healthy Choice meals for my dinners, but not
all the time. If I feel like having something, I have it, all in
moderation. Don't be afraid to try new things to eat. Just try and watch
your sugars and fats, cause too much of them is not good for you anyway. I
have had Wendy's Chili and it is very easy to chew and a small one has 15
grams of protein. You are just going to have to try new things and not be
afraid to do so. You might just be surprised. Good luck to you.

I am 6 months out. I eat a lot of boneless-skinless chicken breast. I
usually grill a piece (on my George Formean indoor grill) and then use it
to eat as chicken salad, chicken cut and then rolled up in a flour tortilla
with LF cheese, used in a quesadilla, or I just eat it as is. I also
still eat SF pudding, SF jello, yogurt, cottage cheese, and a hard boiled
egg (once in a while). I don't have much variety from day to day at this
point but that is at my choosing. Good luck!

Jan, 1/2 the fun is experimenting with new foods! But like you, I have
gotten comfortable with certain foods and I have not strayed, but also am
not bored either. For breakfast, I have 1 scrambled egg with 1/2 slice of
melted cheese and a tablespoon of veggie chili on top-YUM! Pure protein.
Lunch is either 1/2 chicken breast shredded and mixed into a bean type
soup, or the same chicken over a salad or 1/2 of a meat and cheese sandwich
with mayo on whole wheat bread (usually with the crust removed.) Dinner is
either a Lean Cuisine type meal or chicken/fish/beef grilled with a steamed
veggie. Sometimes I put cut up chicken and cheese in a tortilla with a
little chili. Snacks include fruit, nuts, popcorn, mini bite size cookies
(I don't seem to dump). BTW, congrats on the 135 pounds, that is so
awesome. you have lost an entire person!!
