No, you started at a higher weight, so this rapid loss at first is normal.
I lost 60 lbs. in my first 6 weeks after surgery. (Started at 407 lbs.)

Hi, I too lost 20+ lbs in the first week and half - but unfortunately since
then at 1 month out I had only lost 25 lbs total. I hope yours continues to
be speedy loss.

Hey Krysta. Congrats on your weight loss!. If you read my profile, you'll
see that I lost 25 pounds in the first week also. You can loss a lot of
weight fast after having the surgery. I wound up losing 52 pounds my first
month and my BMI was only 44. So far I'm down 78 pounds in 10 weeks and I
feel great. Just make sure you take your vitamins and get enough protein
daily. Good luck to you!

Congrats on your quick loss! What I've been told is that the
"average" peperson loses up to 25 pounds a month for the first 2
months. Then the "average" is 10-15 pounds per month after that.
I'm 9.5 weeks post-op and I've lost 56 pounds. It sure is great! :o)
