Question:
What to do, what to do? Any opinions out there? Help!
Just before we left town a week ago, my PCP called me about my lab work. (I am post RNY one year & post-panni 2 months)....my PCP said that my AMYLASE indicated that I have ACUTE PANCREATITIS. What puzzles me, is I had my one year check up with my Bariatric surgeon and he said nothing about this...altho, he had not ordered that lab test. My PCP believes that I have an ulcer at the "Y" of my bypass and I am bleeding into my old, unused stomach. I have been back on Prevacid (for my yucky stomach) for about six months. Now, I take Axid at night in addition to the Prevacid. Any thoughts anybody?????? Any suggestions???????? Barb B. (Oregon coast, soon to be Las Vegas :-) — Barbara B. (posted on July 8, 2002)

Barb, I would get this corrected ASAP. I have had Duel Bleeding Ulcers, its
not fun. You can become really, really weak, confused, unable to make the
simplest decisions, forget where your heading while out in your car, even
get lost in your own neighborood. I even got my pills mixed up. Got in an
argument with my Boss, told her She was the one that need to see a Doctor,
not me I was OK. I did all this & more. My husband said I drove like I
was Drunk. The faster this is taken care of the faster you can get along
with your new life. Don't delay, don't get to the point where I was. I am 8
weeks out now & cant wait til I'm at the other end, like you.

Thanks for your response. Thank those of you who privately e-mailed me,
too. Any other thoughts or comments? Thanks. Barb.
