Question:
How long of a wait before I hear if I am approved or not?

I had my consultation with Dr. Lane at Bariatrics Treatment Center and I have sent all of my paperwork necessary. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me how long they waited before they heard if they were approved or not. Sorry to be such a pain, but Im getting so anxious.    — Shannon S. hi. this is a common question, you're not a pain!! We were all anxious!! It took me 3 weeks to find out. I called the insurance company once or twice a week to check up on it, and when they said I was approved I screamed and thanked him! LOL I have heard that they cannot take longer than 4 weeks though - to approve or deny. Goodluck to you!

I read your profile. You are doing good. Be a Pit Bull lock on to something and do't let go. If you think that people aren't faxing fast enough ask them to fax a copy to you. If insurance says," We didn't get it yet" ask thier name and employee number and fax the copies directly to them. I was a royal pain in the ass and got my WLS after 3 appeals two surgeons and 15 months. I am about the longest wait I have ever heard of. Good Luck

I had my surgery done at the BTC in Ohio. It took them a good 3 weeks after my consult to get the paperwork turned in. Then my ins. company asked for more info. It took another 3 weeks to get that in. When the ins. co. finally received the extra info, I was approved in 11 days. I found out that the lady at BTC had the request for more info laying on her desk for probably about 2 weeks. Sometimes you have to call and gently remind them.And sometimes you have to call the ins. co to check on whether they have the stuff or not. Cause nothing happens till they have all the paperwork in their greedy little hands.lol Good luck.
