Hi there. This is up to the psychiatrist and your insurance company. First
you need to find out if your insurance will pay for it and if so, if you
have a co-payment. If they don't pay, more than likely the doctor will ask
you to pay and then tell you they will file it and reimbrse you if the
insurance picks any of it up. Just be aware that some doctors are against
WLS and you may end up shelling out money to someone who will shoot your
plans down in a heartbeat soley because they are bias. Just a suggestion,
contact your surgeon and ask them who they recommend. That's what I did and
was pleasantly surprised that it was only $80 unlike many others who spent
$200-$400! Good luck!

My surgeon referred me to someone in my network, he made the appointment
for me. The Psch. Dr. sent me a pre package to fill out before my
appointment time, I also had to call my insurance to see if the evaluation
would be paid for, I had to give the psy a confirmation number. If the
insurance company did not pay, I would have had to pay for the visit, which
means at the time of the appointment. My co-pay was $20

My surgeon required me to see the psych doc that his group uses. The psych
doc required me to pay up front , $225, and they billed my insurance for
me. I received notice from my insurance that they did not cover this,
however I feel it is a small price to pay for a better life and better
health.

hi I just saw mine on thursday and my insurance covers it. All I had to do
was pay my copayment. It should be covered under a mental health policy.
