Question:
I'm concerned that I might soon become underweight...
hi i had surgery on the 5th dec last year and i was 247 pounds open rny i developed 4 strictures over 3 months that had to be dilated and i have not plateaud at all and are now ats of today 66kg dont know the pounds sorry what i would like to know is as i havent plateaud is this because of the strictures as I am not excercising just working 50 hr weeks and running a house with 6 people and I am not gulping the water i am just eating 6 small meals a day of what i feel like not working the protien carbs religously as i can't be fussed with it my blood work is great i inject my own vitamins and havent had any other problems but as i have lost ove 40kg in 6 months and still losing weekly should i be concerned and tell the surgeon as could this deem me to go underweight easily as my body hasnt tried to balance... people are telling me i look gaunt but i just say that they are used to seeing me big so it is just them comparing the 2 if they just knew me this size the wouldn't have said anything and thought i look normal but now i am beginning to worry ... can you help me with this.. what will the worst scenario be if you do go under weight do they reverse the surgery or admit you for ivs i am just curious but also worried and tell me straight as i dont want sugar coating... thanks to you all. — Rachel F. As post-ops, we sometimes look gaunt because we're losing weight quickly,
but this will fill out as we stabilize. It doesn't sound unusual that you
would be losing quickly w/ your schedule! If you get to the point you need
to stop losing, just reverse the rules... drink w/ meals, start grazing,
eat calorie dense food w/ lots of simple carbs (white flour).
