Question:
Anyone had experience with the Bari-Tech product?
Will be having surgery on July 8th, and I am just checking out all the protein options out there. My surgeon recommends the protein shakes to start out with, but leaves it up to the patient to select which brand. I have tried a few samples of different brands that have been pretty bad. Anyone tried the Bari-Tech protein/vitamin product? I guess my main question is how is the taste? — Joanie J. (posted on June 11, 2002)

I use bari-tech, it used to be bari-plex, very gritty, but the bari tech is
smooth, I am not thrilled with it, I have never tried any other protein
powders so I have nothing to compare it to, but in my opinion, its just too
thick, i guess I could add more milk, but who wants to drink all that!!
I actually thought bari plex was better, but they dont carry it anymore. :(

Try American Whey. I get it at GNC and I really like it. It mixes easily
and doesn't have a nasty texture or flavor. I get the Creamy Vanilla
because then I can mix it with anything. I mix it first with 4-6 oz of
cold water and then add Davinci SF flavored syrups. My favorite is Carmel.
YUMMY! I also add it to the water when I make instant oatmeal or cream of
wheat. Then finish making the ceral as directed. I add it to instant SF
puddings and yogurts for a good way to get in my protein. Even at 2 years
(ok...23 months) out of surgery, I still get in at least one serving of
this a day to make sure that I am starting out my day right. I have also
mixed it up with Diet Orange or Root Beer soda and that is also good. Lots
of different ways to get in that much needed protein.
