Same day I got a surgery date, had a notice my D/H office was switching too! I was so upset. I was told by H/R that as long as I was in the process already I would be ok. Ended up having surgery before the insurance changed, but I was told all along that the new insurance would have to pick it up. Check w/ human resourses. They should be able to help ease your mind.

One option is to check into whether or not you can COBRA your insurance that is changing. Usually it is up to 18 months and then you could switch over to the new insurance. Good Luck.

You can't get COBRA. COBRA is only if you are no longer an employee or if your no longer a dependent of an employee. If your insurance company is changing, I would contact the new insurance company and find out what there policies are regarding WLS. Your other option is to let your doctor's office know about the insurance change and have them move your surgery up before your current coverage terminates. If not, there going to have to submit all of the paperwork again to the new insurance company.
