Question:
Has anyone tried the Atkins Pre Made shakes in a can?
Those powdered mixes dont seem to mix very well for me. I saw the pre-made shakes on the Atkins website and was thinking about trying them. — Michell C. (posted on June 6, 2002)

I have tried the chocolate, it's pretty decent. Tastes a lot like
slim-fast but sugar free. I have surgery in 7 days and I have been trying
different things to prepare myself but some people have said your taste
changes after surgery. Haven't found a bar I like yet...ick!

I have tried the shakes. Chocolate taste the best in my opinion. Be careful
if you can not handle milk as it does contain that in the shake. It makes
some people dump. I would get an individual can first to see how your body
handles it. Good luck.

The Atkins chocolate is pretty good. I also like the CarbSolutions and
AdvantEdge premixed. BTW, If you are looking for some bars to try, I have
some tolerable ones listed on my profile. I have tried LOTS! =)

I've tried all the flavors and like them as well. They're low in sugar but
expensive if you buy them once or twice everyday - I mean, compared to the
fast food we all use to get - it probably averages out but if you want to
try another recipe that is cheaper and taste really well (if you like
coffee drinks) then you can try this - it's heavenly and I drink at least
one every day. Mix in a blender 1/2 cup ice chips, 1 or 2 sweet-n-low
packets, 2 heaping tablespoons of International Instant Coffee (non-sugar,
de-caf, no-fat of course - any flavor), 1/3 cup powdered protein mix (I use
NRG powder that sells for about $15.00 a container - the container is the
size of an oatmeal box and it last me about a month) and then add 1/2 cup
water. Mix in a blender until it becomes the consistency of a Wendy's
Frosty. It's yummy and it last for quite some time - even when it is
melted, it still taste good and you can't taste the protein. Each shake,
depending on the type of mix you put in it, is worth about 28 gms. of
protein. ATKINS IS GOOD TOO THOUGH !! :)
