Question:
For those who have had a TT, your new belly button...

was your new belly button kind of gross? Mine is oozing this brownish colored stuff occasionally and it doesnt smell good. Also my belly button area is kind of red. Is this all normal. I dont see that it would be an infection since I have been on antibiotics since leaving the hospital.    — Michell C. (posted on May 13, 2002)

Hi Michell,I had the same thing after my surgery,I was so scared ,thought the belly button was dying,it smelled so bad.(GROSS). I called my doc and he assured me that it wasn't rotting out of my belly,It just was oozing due to a bacterial infection.I just had to clean it out 3 times a day for a few days and it was fine.I had to lay on the bed and pour peroxide into it and after a few minutes swab it out. Be sure it's dry,using a swab.Bacteria loves moisture.
