Question:
Does everyone have to get a tummy tuck after wls or can it be avoided?

I know unless I'm planning on a modeling career once I get to goal, I sure
ain't planning on getting one! (Now the "bat wing" syndrome,
that's another issue!) Seriously, though I think unless you're left with a
large apron of hanging skin, tt's aren't vital for improved
appearance/outlook. It would be interesting to do a survey of the members
of this site who have/haven't had them done, and why...

I think it depends on a lot of things. The amount of weight you have to
loose, your skin elasticity and basically how you feel about what you see
when you look in the mirror. I had a tt on 3 April and I am absolutely
loving it! My clothes fit better, I don't have the back pain I once had
and damn I look good! I am at that stage in my life where I think its OK
for me to do something totally selfish for myself. I started as a
lightweight (BMI of 41) and after having two kids, two other abdominal
surgeries, and gastric bypass I did it for me. If you decide it is for you
go for it! You are beautiful no matter what you decide. Smooches!

Jennifer,
I understand that Age is a big factor. Your skin is more elastic when you
are young. It is a matter of age and weight. The younger and lighter you
are, the less chance you will need one.
