Question:
What is the difference between soy and whey protein?

Whey protein is a milk product and soy is a plant product. Some people who
have problems with milk prefer the soy protein. Myself, I can't stand the
texture of the soy not to mention the taste. Others like it.

One of the differences I was told about was that whey is better for muscle
building. Men are better off taking whey than soy because of this and also
because soy boosts your estrogen levels. I don't know if this is a problem
for women, but I hear it is for men.

Whey is the MOST bioavailable form of protein. The supplements are smooth,
usually tasty and a very small amount will deliver a big wad of protein.
It's a derivative of milk, but the good products are usually lactose free.
Soy is about #9 on the BV list, it tends to be gritty, thickens up on
standing, needs to add a lot more liquid and many of the pre-flavored ones
are high in sugar. HOWEVER, some people will do one soy shake a day and
one whey shake. OR add a little soy to their whey shakes.
