Hi: I'm not much of a breakfast eater, but know I should eat something w/ protien. What I eat is 2 pieces of string cheese. Gives me about 15 grams of protien, and I can eat it on the go...

I've seen someone else post that they have had an open faced egg mcmuffin. They take the top of the muffin off and have the egg, cheese and canadian bacon. lots of protein.

I use Procell and put it in the blender with a piece (about 1/2) of a banana, any other type of fruit I have on hand (i.e. berries, plums, apricots, cherries, etc.) and about 1/2 of a carton of the blue label Yoplait yogurt. Give it a whir and I have the Mondo Protein shake/smooothie to blast off with! (a sneaky way to get extra protein and fruits in at the same time).

If you have a microwave I found in the freezer section at the store the new breakfast bowls from Uncle Ben. You might want to check with the DR to see if you can eat it but the one with ham, eggs and peppers has 17gr of protien but 7% carbo. I am still pre-op and trying to figure out myself what is high in protien and what's not healthy to eat. If you find something let me know because I am just like you, no time for cooking in the morning when you have to be at work at 6am..good luck!!

Two of my favorite are 3/4 cup cottage cheese and a bowl of fresh fruit (you'll eat much less with your new little belly) and La Yogurt Light mixed with 1/2 cup Grape Nuts. (I buy the store brand grape nuts b/c they are cheaper and 40 less calories. Also my mom in law makes me a squash & onion egg beaters omlette that I put on whole wheat bread. YUMMY!!

I cook up taco meat a lb at a time, and keep it in the fridge for quick breakfasts. Add a little cooked rice to the meat for some body. Take the cold taco meat, along with a beaten egg, and put it in the microwave for 45 seconds-1 min or so. Along side that, put in a flour tortilla (they have low carb ones, if you like). Or, you can dump the whole mixture in a frying pan for a until heated through. Put the mixture inside the flour tortilla, add some shredded cheese, and eat! I also add salsa and sour cream, but you don't have to to get a good breakfast. YUMMY! If you use 2 oz of meat, one egg and 1/2 oz of cheese is over 25 grams of protein!

I was never much of a breakfast eater prior to WLS. My favorite "grab n go" is a protein shake or bar. My favorite bars are Pure Potein by Worlwide Nutrition. I order them online from netrition.com since I am in Italy but I have seen them at GNC back in the states. They come in yummy flavors like strawberry cheesecake, lemon chiffon, vanilla raspberry, smores, etc. They have abot 260 calories, 6-7 carbs and 30g of protein. I keep one in my purse at all times if I'm out and don't want to turn to high fat or junk food. Some people knock them but they have helped me reach a substantial weightloss. I am 10 months post op today and down to 127 (-110 pounds) and wearing a size 6. Take care and good luck! Ciao, Victoria from Italy :)

Be careful of the toppless egg McMuffin .It still has 13gm carbs 10gm fat 220kcal and 15gm protein--- 35%carbs 38%protein and 28%fat--- I was told by my DR 70%pro 20%carbs and 10% fat

Hi! I take a slice of swiss cheese (any cheese would do), put some mustard or mayo on it. Then add a few slices of ham or turkey. Roll it up, put it in a baggie and have breakfast on the go. Add some milk and up the protein more. Peanut butter on toast, egg, tuna or chicken salad on toast or crackers. Go Lean has a cold protein cereal that you can just munch on. Good. Luck!
