Question:
Why do I feel some discomfort in my intestinal track and bowels when I eat?
I am 9 weeks post-op, LAP-RNY, starting weight 320, current weight 290. Whenever I eat I immediately feel pressure like I need to have a bowel movement. However, I only have a bowel movement every two to three days. Is this gas? My stomach seems hard for the next hour or so after eating. It even happens when drinking fluids. What is a normal bowel movement after surgery? I honestly feel as though my whole digestive system is full up and that when I eat I am adding food to an already full recepticle. Any ideas? — Robin E. I am 5 month post op and have the exact same feeling that you do after I
eat. It does feel like I need to go to the bathroom and it's frusturating
that there is no way to make that pressure go away faster than just waiting
around for the food to digest. Some will say that it's because we ate too
much but I still measure out my food and the feeling is still there. I
assume that it is gas that's helping along the food to digestion. As long
as it keeps going away about an hour after I eat, I'm not going to stress
about it. I am interested to see other answers though. Good luck! 5 months
post op and down 97 pounds- Lee

Just a suggestion, have you tried digestive enzymes? Digestive enzymes
help the food break down. They work great for "that full
feeling", indigestion, gas, etc. Best of all it's a drinkable liquid
and tastes great. For more info email [email protected] If you would
like, I can send you a sample packet to try. Hope this helps!!
