Question:
Is drinking 6ozs. in 15 mins. normal for 2 weeks post op?
Hi it seems I can drink alot of liquid at at time it worries me that my pouch may have stretched. I am 2 weeks post-op on clear liquids. Frankly, I am sick of them, but I will only do as the doctor says. Do you think 6 ounces in 15 minutes is too much too fast? — nanci L. (posted on March 19, 2002)

I am 4 weeks post op. My doctor's nurse instructed me to increase to 120
cc (4 ounces) per hour at that point. Ask your doctor for sure.

I am 3.5 weeks post op. I can drink 6 oz of clear liquids in that amount
of time. Remember liquids flow through your pouch more quickly than pureed
or denser foods. I am up to drinking 64 oz of water a day and I drink that
while I am at work mostly over the course of an 8 hour day.

Well, I'm 3 weeks post op today and it takes me about 1.5 hrs to drink 32
oz. I make sure it's atleast 2 hrs after I've eaten anything so my pouch
is empty. Then, take two sips every two minutes or so. The water pretty
much moves right through my pouch, but like I said, it has to be EMPTY.
