Question:
I'm 7 weeks post op & I've lost 35 lbs when I went to doctor he wasn't happy with
this amount any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I don't have any trouble eating anything, and when I ask him about vitianms he just gave me a prenatal no blood work.... — Sammie D. (posted on January 20, 2002)

At 7 weeks I had lost 37 lbs. and my doctor seemed fine with that. I don't
know why your doctor isn't happy with your loss. There are those who lose
a lot faster, but as we all know, we are all different and will lose at
different rates. I think that is wonderful.

HI there - this just blows my mind - I just checked my weighin - when I was
7 weeks I had lost 39lbs - my doctor had said that was great - it was not
too high, not too low but just right - I am now 8 months - i am down 116
lbs and only 53 to 63 lbs from goal - so dont worry about what your doctor
is saying as long as your losing the surgery is working - we are all
different....ps - i started at 334.

I can't believe your doctor was so unsupportive. At 7 weeks I had lost 30
pounds (in the middle of my first plateau). Ok, I not a "fast"
loser - but I am now just over 5 mo post op and down 78 - 80 pounds. Keep
up the hard work - keep exercising - drinking water and focusing on
protein. And please remember, we are not all "FAST" losers - but
it is the end results that count!

Sammie... I'm 6 weeks post-op as of tomorrow.. and down 30 lbs. I don't
know where you started.. but as long as you're going DOWN.. your Dr. should
be thrilled - as well as you. I had a 'plateau' between weeks 4-5 where I
only lost 1 lb.. then this past week I lost 6! You should have been taking
the prenatal vitamins all along - so I'm wondering about how much your
surgeon understands about this whole process. With that in mind.. don't
worry about what he says with regard to your 'progress' right now. You're
still REAL EARLY in the game.. and it WILL come off if you do your
protein/reduced fats & sugars/64+ oz water each day and exercise.
You're doing good..!! Good luck

I just read your post and looked at your profile! My goodness! You must
be 1/3 of the way to your goal weight with your low BMI! I've lost 40
pounds in 2 months and I just have 120 to lose! I think that's about 1/3
of the way there for me! Your doctor is not being very nice! He should
know that you have to "catch up" with your weight loss! You are
doing super sweetie! Just keep up what you have been doing!
