Question:
DO YOU THINK THEY WILL COVER IT UNDER THIS EXCLUSION.
UNDER MY INURANCE PLANS EXCLUSIONS SECTION IT HAS "OBESITY" AND IT READS....CARE AND TREATMENT OF OBESITY,WEIGHT LOSS OR DEITARY CONTROL WHETHER OR NOT IT IS, IN ANY CASE,A PART OF THE TREATMENT PLAN FOR ANOTHER SICKNESS. MEDICALLY NECESSARY CHARGES FOR MORBID OBESITY WILL BE COVERED. THE PLAN DOES NOT MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT THE SURGERY OR OBESITY UNDER THE MEDICAL BENEFITS SECTION. — monique C. Hi! Your key here might be the part about "morbid obesity".
Your BMI will be a clue here to make sure you are at or exceed the NIH
standard for what is morbidly obese. Check too in your state to see if
there are any new laws on the books about covering surgery for morbid
obesity. If so, then you have that support also. I know in MD we now have
a law that says they must cover surgery for morbid obesity regardless of
exclusion. Good luck to you.

hello, my mom had a similar exclusion to yours and was approved for surgery
rather quickly. As long as you are morbidly obese (bmi over 40 / 100 lbs
overweight) they should cover it. hope this helps debbie
