Question:
What exactly is a CPAP?
I am scheduled for my sleep test on February 18, I dont think I have sleep apnea BUT the surgeon said he will not even consider surgery without a sleep test done. — MCraig3 (posted on January 19, 2002)

A CPAP is for sleep apnea. It has a hose that connects to a machine that
gives continuous air pressure. There is a mask that fits over your nose or
some have plugs that fit in the nose. It allows you to get air and SLEEP
all at the same time. I needed it to sleep at all before surgery. Otherwise
I saw every hour on the clock and snored like crazy! Doesn't look great on
but if you want sleep and need one it is awsome.
