Question:
Will most insurance compaines pay for a TT?
I'm courious to know if anyone had there insurance company pay for their Tummy Tuck? Or do you have to pay out of pocket. I only go to my first appointment in March. I'm courious to know what happen after wards. — Adele S. (posted on January 13, 2002)

My doctor billed my Tummy Tuck as reconstructive after the RNY and my
insurance company paid for every dime.

Be sure that your plastic surgeon requests the surgery as
"reconstructive following massive weight loss" rather than a
"cosmetic" procedure. I have CIGNA PPO and Acordia and was
approved by both for my panniculectomy and brachioplasty. CIGNA approved
immediately without any questions, and Acordia denied initially but
approved after one attempt in the appeals process. My plastic surgeon said
that it was not unusual to receive an initial denial, but that many
insurance companies approve the surgery following the appeal. Good luck!

We we talking about the same surgeon doing the TT as well as the WLS? I
know a surgeon is a surgeon but just curious. I love my WSL doctor so this
would be great but I was under the impression I would need a plastic
surgeon for the TT. I guess I should ask my doc too huh :-)
