Question:
What kinds of meds can you take post-op for arthritis/inflamed tendons etc?

For my knee aches and pains I was prescribed Vioxx and it works
very well for me. I suggest that you have your doctor call
your surgeon's office and talk to them before he prescribes
so he knows what he can give you. Good Luck and Happy New Year!

My rhumatologist who has been following me along with my PCP and surgeon
has prescribed the new drug BEXTRA for me instead of Vioxx and Celebrex.
It doesn't have the same side effects, and it is very easy on the stomach.
It's good for 24 hours, and it has virtually taken away all pains that I
have
in my joints and organs from the rheumatoid arthritis. Ask about it - I
like it
better than the Vioxx! Good luck!

I was taking Bextra for a herniated disc and ended up in the hospital for 7
days from a pouch leak. I was advised to NEVER take ANY inti inflammatory
drug EVER again. Believe me, They won't have to tell me twice. The Doctor
treating my disc disorder prescribed Bextra as it was not to have the same
effect as the usual drugs, but I guess each person is different. I cannot
begin to tell you how terrible the pain was from the leak, but I do thank
God that I came out of it without having to have another surgery
