I used vite E for the first 4 weeks (once cleared to do so), then Scargo
forever. The Mederma irritated the scar and made it red & sore, in my
case. I used Scargo twice daily til the color faded and now use it
occasionally to keep the tissue supple & soft. Scargo does not prevent
or repair a keloid, however, nor will the others.

I started using Mederma about 4-6 weeks post op and to be honest with you
it didn't really do much for me, I used it till it ran out but I didn't buy
anymore (kinda expensive) knowing what I know now, i would've opted for
just the vit e.

Mederma also irritated my scar! Now it is even more red and a the line is
wider than before. I wish I would have left it alone!

My surgeon\'s very specific statement to me was to leave my lap scars
alone--all of those products simply irritate the skin and cause further
scaring. Im 5 mths post op and my scars are fading very well. My brother is
a professional photographer and we have taken pictures each month and the
fading is clear in the pictures. I tend to scar so was worried but have
followed his advice and am glad.
