Dear Cindee, Don't worry. I've had staples twice from two C-sections. Try feeling anything at all in the area of your incision. Your skin is completely dead to any feeling. It will take a few years for your nerve endings to grow back in that area so you won't be feeling any pain when the staples are taken out. You may feel a little tugging but that's it.

Hi, it is not painful to have staples removed. If there is a buildup of gunk around them you may feel a pinching sensation but it's not bad and they come out quickly. You will feel so much better with them out, believe me!

I agree with the previous posters. I was really scared of getting my staples removed. But, I can honestly say that the thought of it is much worse than the actual procedure. I had an incision infection and at 9 days post-op my surgeon had to cut 5 staples off of a very tender infected area and I didn't even feel it. Then at 3 weeks out, I had the remaning staples and stitches out and that didn't hurt. I did have a few staples up top where the skin started to grow around it and (like the previous poster said) it was a little prick. Those few stitches did bleed a tiny bit for a few minutes, but it still didn't hurt. It will be a relief to get them out and it won't hurt!

Just a little pinch was all I felt. It was such a relief to have those staples out though, that I wouldn't have minded a little pain. They pulled and they itched and I just wanted them gone. Don't worry about it, you will hardly notice them being removed.

Not bad unless they were left in to long. I've had stiches out in the past and they were easy unless it was to long a time, then the body tends to heal around them. Then they hurt! My staples were taken out exactly one week post op. I had a list of questions to ask my surgeon and did so while he took them out. That takes the mind off of it. It really was'nt bad and I've been through MANY different uncomfortable proceedurs so I can compare. ;)

I had half my staples out 8 days after surgery and could not even feel it. The rest of the staples came out 19 days after surgery and I could feel it but it didn't hurt. I was just glad to get them out because they were itching.
