Question:
Either on the Q & A or the message board, I read a comment about salt. Morton's salt.
Either on the Q & A or on the message board, I read a comment about salt & now cannot find it. Morton's Salt. Something about one retains water, but if you buy it without (can't remember the ingredient) ____ in it, it will help you get rid of fluid instead of retaining fluids? Anybody know? Sure would appreciate it :-) (at first, I thought it was from a post in my support group, but they tell me no, so I am presuming it had to be on here)Thanks! — Barbara B. Go to the "library" look up "morton" and you'll find
answers like this:
after surgery and my doc said that I was retaining fluid and prescibed
Lasix, a diuretic. It helped. I also would take some potassium salt.
(Morton's has one with 650mg/1/4tsp.)Potassium does the opposite that
sodium does. (releases fluid, vs holds it

I don't know what all is in salt other than iodine (if you buy the iodized
kind). I was always told to buy iodized salt because lack of iodine can
cause goiters. I don't know if this is what you thought should be removed
or not. I'm not a salt expert. hehe I do know, however, that kosher salt
is the best stuff on the face of this earth. It's not as "salty"
(if that makes sense) as regular salt, and it's great for cooking.
