Question:
Someone mentioned that my pain could be a leak?

My pain is weird and it is in my upper abdomen. It's numb and feels like a sun burn that goes deep. Hurts when I bend and move the wrong way. It doesn't hurt when I'm sitting still or anything. I saw the surgeon and it's not an infection. He has never seen this before. Any thoughts on the leak?    — Kelly C. (posted on November 19, 2001)

I had pain above the top of my incision when I did bending or moving. My surgeon said he thought it was probably a bruised sternum from the surgery. I didn't notice it until about 3-4 weeks post-op. He said that was because I had so much other pain, it just wasn't noticeable. Went away after a couple of weeks.
