your dr will not let you go into a pool until your wound is closed (sealed)
As it is a health hazard to you and to the others who use the pool. Once
your would is sealed you are then able to go

I don't know about your dr, but mine said no swimming for 6 weeks because
it uses your abdominal muscles. After the staples were out I could walk in
the pool if I wanted but he told me absolutely no abdominal exercises for 6
weeks. You're still healing on the inside, too, remember. I would
definitely ask your doctor before puttin' on the suit!

My doctor stresses swimming but it wasn't until after my six weeks were
over. At that time I was still to week to swim (I had other things going on
with me ) Now I'm almost 1 year post op and my doctor is back to the
swimming issue. He says swimming is the least hard on the body but it is
good for the whole body. When I had my G-tube removed the GI specialist
told me he didn't see why I couldn't go swimming. He said the chlorine
would probably be good for me. He also said try to keep the spot dry by
covering it with op-site. However, I would check with the surgeon before
any exercise
