Question:
Has anyone experienced a lot of weight gain the few weeks before WLS?
I have noticed that my eating has been out of control now that I am waiting for my surgery date to come up (12/14/01). I feel like I won't take off what I had originally planned to because of this. — Brenda E. (posted on November 9, 2001)

I personally gained about 10 lbs. before my surgery. I think its because I
ate the stuff I didn't think I would ever be able to have again. I ate out
alot at resturants and didn't really think twice about it. Now though, I
really wish I hadn't because that was just 10 more lbs. I had to lose and
if I didn't have to lost that I would be less than what I am now, know what
I mean? So I think its normal to gain but try not too. Eventually you
might be able to have the same foods, just much smaller portions and trust
me, its all good. :-) happy to be down 90 lbs at 4 months post
op.....good luck and GOD bless!

Me too:( All those last suppers were a waste, I can eat anything, dont dump
and have lost 90 pounds since july 23rd. If I hadnt pigged out I would be
even lighter.

I'm ashamed to admit that I've gained 35 lbs and still gaining since I've
made the decision to have this surgery, in my defense I also stopped
smoking in preparation for this surgery and I've started this whole process
in May, so plenty of time to gain plenty of weight...LOL

Hi this is the poster of the question. I want to thank those who answered
because it helps let me know I am not alone. I am going to attempt to watch
what it eat for the weeks left. I guess I felt like I would never eat
again.
